It is well known that Germany is one of the hardest countries to start a new life as an expat, and Braunschweig is not an exception in that sense. Things will be especially hard if you cannot speak Deutsch, since you will hardly find cooperation in that sense. Of course you are supposed to learn German, but do not expect that to happen quickly. The following map shows the businesses and services that, based on the experience of the author and the feedback of other expats, are more or less recommended for foreigners, especially when you do not know the language. To avoid the blog to be closed due to some referred place alleging defamation, no details will be given about why each place is or not recommended.
Note that recommendations are not based on the quality, availability or other aspects of the services, only in how nice/easy is the experience from a non-German speaker point of view.
Red not recommended
Orange at your own risk (different experiences reported, depends on the staff at the moment, etc)
Green recommended
